Research and Evaluation of Further Education Students and Part-Time Paid Employment. Survey in South Essex Colleges
A survey was carried out in May 2002 of Further Education students aged between 16 and 19 who are currently studying at colleges in South Essex. The Research investigated paid employment patterns of students. A substantial total of 1400 responses to a questionnaire were completed in May and the resulting data was analysed using Microsoft Access Database during May and June 2002.
Students were asked to respond to a series of questions based on their course details, their personal details, and their paid employment. Most of the students who responded are aged 16 to 18 and are on courses of around 20 taught hours.
All the students were asked their motivations for working. This research was carried out using a substantial sample 1400 questionnaires to provide data about students and their paid working patterns.
