The Research Centre at City College Norwich was approached in January 2004 by the Norfolk Learning Partnership (NLP) to undertake a literature review with the focus: “Raising Aspirations to Learn”, looking at the learning aspirations of people living in Norfolk.
The project will review research concerning aspirations of learners aged 14+ years of age.  Of particular interest is the identification of successful initiatives that have enhanced learner progression through increased learner uptake, an improved learning experienced, progression through basic skills, further and higher education, development in the work place and in the community.
The LSC Norfolk Learner Feedback Research: Literature Review reported in January 2003 has been taken as a starting point for the project.  The main but not exclusive focus of this review of recently undertaken research has concentrated on work carried out and reported after January 2003, with relevance to the 14+ age group.
