The QUINORA Project International Quality Assurance Programme in Vocational Orientation Evaluation Report
QUINORA was an international project funded by the EU. It aimed to develop benchmarks for the provision of vocational training across Europe. During phase one European partner countries researched their national provision of vocational training and employment re-integration programmes, reporting back examples of best practice. Building upon these examples, an e-learning tool was developed to promote quality standards in vocational training at the management and policy level applicable across Europe.
Each partner held workshops within their country to evaluate the newly developed e-learning programme. This report is an evaluation that includes data collected from UK workshop participant questionnaires and qualitative analysis of workshop transcripts to identify recurring issues.
Much work has gone into the QUINORA resources and it was clear that the content was wide-reaching in its scope and target audience. However, this evaluation found that UK workshop participants recommended a number of changes in order to make course materials more accessible. For example, the evaluation recommends that the learning materials should be edited further to provide consistency of tone, academic level and formatting. Also, recommendations suggest that greater use could be made on the benefits of online publishing. For example, theory content could be broken up by the addition of visual tools, which could be hyper-linked to provide more efficient navigation through the body of the text.
Outcomes from the evaluation and the participant questionnaire data have been submitted to the lead partner agency, abif, in Austria, and feed back into the final overall evaluation report for the Europe-wide QUINORA project.
