This report is based on the findings of 105 reviews of HE delivered in 76 FECs during the academic years 2003-04 and 2004-05.  (It is the second overview report of HE in FECs produced by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and follows a 2003 publication which gave findings for reviews in 2002-03).  The reviews cover programmes in a variety of subject areas and qualifications, such as the HNC/D, foundation degrees and bachelor degrees. The report provides an overview of focusing on aspects of academic standards and the quality of learning opportunities.  The main purpose of the report is to highlight and disseminate elements of good practice identified by reviewers and to assist current and potential providers in developing and enhancing their provision.  Conclusions and recommendations are listed at the end of the report.
