In March 2002 Norfolk Lifelong Learning Partnership approached The Research Centre, City College Norwich, on behalf of the East of England Learning Partnerships to undertake research linking health and lifelong learning.
The Research Methodology involved desk based research acquiring information from the Internet, literature, search and telephone contacts.  The report aims to provide a background of some of the national, regional and local policies and programmes linking health and lifelong learning as a basis for further research.  The first section provides a broad overview of the national policy context, the second section outlines the regional government structure and the last section provides an overview of cases of initiatives linking health and lifelong learning.  A comprehensive annexe offers baseline information to start research into these areas.
