DCSF has published a document setting out plans for 3 new research centres and invites organisations to express interest in bidding for them.

The document sets out the goals and functions and outlines the thematic coverage of the 3 individual centres.  The role we see for centres emphasises close engagement with both analysts and policy-makers in the Department and the ability of centres to draw upon wider evidence and expertise, as well as their own knowledge and work programme.  The closing date for receipt of initial expressions of interest is Friday June 19th.  From within the set of expressions received, a small number of organisations will be invited to submit full tenders for individual centres.  Those tender invitations will be sent out before the end of June.
