Date:

  • Pre-conference activity week: 15th - 21st November 2011
  • Main conference sessions: 22nd - 25th November 2011

Venue: Online, both live and asynchronous

This year’s programme offers more than ever before with two distinct elements demonstrating the advantages of online conferencing. Firstly, the pre-conference activity week, starting on the 15th November, provides a platform for delegates and agencies, such as the JISC Regional Support Centres, to run their own short presentations and showcase events. The main conference then starts on the 22nd November with sessions programmed under two themes, each with its own keynote presentation and plenary. The final keynote is delivered this year by Ewan MacIntosh. All sessions in the main conference are live but recorded for delegates who cannot attend at the time. Sessions are also supported by asynchronous discussion forums open to all delegates.

Themes and Programme

  • Pre-conference activity week
During the week beginning 15th November, a variety of events and activities will provide a lively pre-conference experience. You will need to register early to fully participate in these events.

  • Theme 1: learning landscapes
Sessions in Theme 1 discuss the importance of forging a collaborative cross-sector environment in which further and higher education institutions, learners and employers can work together to shape a forward-looking curriculum.

  • Theme 2: navigating pathways
Sessions in Theme 2 open up some of the challenges involved in learning and teaching in a digital age and discuss possible solutions.
