The Higher Education Academy invites tenders to undertake a revision of the Learning and Employability Series guide entitled Pedagogy for Employability.

Open Educational Resources Programme phase 2: literature analysis examining the impact of OER use on teaching and learning

The Academy invites tenders to conduct an insightful analysis of the literature which focuses on learners’ use of online resources to aid their learning.

Purpose of the study:
to provide a greater understanding of the ways in which learners, whether or not in formal education, use online resources to aid their learning experiences and the factors which influence the selection of resources. 

Student Engagement in the UK Context

The Higher Education Academy is pleased to invite research bids from individuals or groups with an interest in building upon their existing work on student engagement. Funding has been provided to enable us to offer six grants of up to £2000 each to undertake this research (with one grant specifically offered to a Welsh institution. Please note, this does not preclude Wesh institutions receiving more than one grant).

Student Engagement in the UK Context

The Higher Education Academy is pleased to invite research bids from individuals or groups with an interest in building upon their existing work on student engagement. Funding has been provided to enable us to offer five grants of up to £2000 each to undertake this research.

The primary output of this research will be a presentation at the Higher Education Academy’s annual conference on the 5th and 6th July 2011, and publication of the research by the Higher Education Academy.

Project funding: Teaching about Islam and Muslims in languages, linguistics and area studies

The Subject Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies (LLAS) has issued a call for project bids relating to teaching about Islam and Muslims in languages, linguistics and area studies.  Up to four projects will be funded, and the maximum amount that an individual project can apply for is £3,000.  The deadline for applications is 18 February 2011.

Islamic Studies Gateway - invitation to tender

The JISC is inviting tenders for the creation of a gateway for searching catalogues and images of Islamic Studies manuscripts.  The aim of the work is to create a tool for educational users to access collections of Islamic Studies manuscripts in the UK.

 The Higher Education Academy is pleased to invite UK Higher Education Institutions, and Further Education Colleges delivering Higher Education, to be part of a national seminar series on Assessment and Feedback.  Funding has been provided to enable us to offer a grant of £500 to institutions to host and deliver a seminar during the series (in March - July 2011), and produce a briefing paper for the sector.
